In the Scriptures, faith is defined as “the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1).
Faith is the foundation of the Christian life. It was the crucial virtue of Abraham, the forefather of Israel and the Christian Church. “Abraham believed the Lord, and He counted it to him as righteousness” (Genesis 15:6).
Jesus began His ministry with the command for faith, to "repent and believe":
Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God and saying, “The time is fulfilled, the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel” (Mark 1:15).
May we have faith in Jesus Christ, who incarnated as fully God and fully man, was crucified, and rose again, trampling down death and saving us from sin! Read these Bible verses about faith and pray in supplication for true belief!
Bible Verses about Faith and Trusting God
These scriptures about faith are from the English Standard Version (ESV) Bible.

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
For nothing will be impossible with God.”
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
And Jesus said to him, “‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.”
The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.
